Space for God is a one-woman drama about the hope and heartbreak of a divine call... Three monologues explore the struggle, ambiguity, risk and joy experienced by all those who seek the courage to speak the truth inside them. Using the biblical story of Mary as a conversation partner, the piece especially addresses the modern experience of women artists, writers and scholars who struggle to make space for the Word internally – and fight for the space to birth that Word into the world.
Space for God grows out of the personal stories of women whose callings have not been honored by their communities. While written from a Christian context, Space for God invites reflection and engagement with persons of all faith perspectives.
