CARLA
NELL (Artistic
Director) has over 14 years of experience acting and directing
in the San Diego theatre community. She is an SDSU graduate with a
BA in Theatre Arts. While at SDSU, she directed and co-produced
the campus premier production of The
Vagina Monologues.
Now in its ninth year, the campaign has raised more than $100,000
for local charities working to end violence against women. She
was also featured in the KPBS special documentary: Trial
by Fire, The Making of a Theatre Professional.
Locally she has produced and directed The
Marriage of Bette and Boo
at 6th @ Penn, I
Am a Woman at Claire de Lune,
an evening of one-acts at Diversionary Theatre, First
Love
at St. Cecilias Playhouse, Dancing
at Lughnasa
at Onstage Playhouse (winner of four Aubrey award nominations
including best direction and ensemble), and Personal
Space
in association with THE COLLECTIVE. She directed listen
at SDSU and co-produced the critically acclaimed Marat/Sade
and All
in the Timing
with ion theatre, and assistant directed Hold
Please
at The Old Globe Theatre. Recent credits include producing and
directing the San Diego premiere of Nest
by local playwright George Soete and How
I Learned to Drive
at Onstage Playhouse. She appeared in the critically acclaimed Fat
Pig
co-produced by Onstage Playhouse. She appeared in Dear
Harvey
written by Patricia Loughrey at Diversionary Theatre. Carla is a
member of the Pasadena Playhouse Directors Lab West.

KYM PAPPAS
(Co-artistic Director)
is the Co-Artistic Director of InnerMission Productions. Local credits include, The Glory of Living (Jeanette/ InnerMission), Nest (Sophie/ InnerMission), How I Learned to Drive (Lil Bit/OnStage Playhouse), Godspell (Robin/ OnStage Playhouse), Dancing at Lughnasa (Agnes/OnStage Playhouse) Marat/Sade (Rossignol/ion Theatre), and The World is Round (Sledgehammer/Opera Zero). She developed the Theatre Internship Program at OnStage Playhouse which is going into its 6th year serving San Diego youth. In 2010, she directed and developed an original theatre piece, ONE with the L.E.T Youth Crew and the San Diego Domestic Violence Council for their annual HOPE in the Park event. Directing credits for InnerMission include: Fat Pig (w/ OnStage Playhouse), The Vagina Monologues (2010 w/Triad Productions), Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, and A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A Prayer(2011). Kym studied at the American Conservatory Theatre.
